At Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary, adoption is not about finding animals somewhere to go.

It’s about finding them the right place, where they will be safe, respected, and cared for for the rest of their lives.

Rehoming allows us to rescue more animals in urgent need, but it is only ever done when it is in the animal’s best interest.

Colin

Colin is a handsome young cockerel, estimated to be around 6 weeks old. He was found by a kind member of the public on the side of the road, taped inside a cardboard box marked "Free" on one of the hottest days of the year.

Despite such a difficult start to life, Colin is a sweet, curious little character who is learning that people can be kind. He is growing in confidence every day and has quickly won over everyone at the sanctuary.

Colin will soon be looking for a loving, knowledgeable home where he can live safely and enjoy the life he deserves. We are seeking a five-star home with plenty of space, suitable companions, and people committed to providing excellent lifelong care.

Atticus

Atticus is a handsome young cockerel. Full of character and confidence, Atticus is always keen to know what's going on and enjoys exploring his surroundings.

He is a bright, alert boy with plenty of personality and has settled in well at the sanctuary. Atticus would thrive in a home where he has plenty of space to roam, opportunities to express his natural behaviours, and carers who understand the needs of cockerels.

Atticus is looking for a loving, lifelong home with suitable companions and people who will cherish him as part of the family. Could you offer this handsome boy the happy ending he deserves?

The Adoption Process

Our process is designed to protect everyone involved, especially the animals.

  1. Submit an adoption interest form

  2. We review your details carefully

  3. We contact you to discuss suitability

  4. A home check may be arranged

  5. If approved, adoption is planned slowly and thoughtfully

Not every application can be successful, and that decision is always made with the animal’s welfare at heart.

Important Things to Know

  • Adoption is not first-come, first-served

  • We may say no if a home isn’t the right fit

  • Some animals require experienced homes

  • We prioritise calm, safe, and stable environments

  • Rehoming support doesn’t end at adoption
